P.J. Demarie, III, CLU®, ChFC®, CLTC® is a lifetime resident of Covington, Louisiana. He is the oldest in a family of 7 children. He graduated from St. Paul's High School in 1974 and entered Louisiana State University. While at LSU, he was an LSU cheerleader and a member of the LSU gymnastics team. P.J. graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1980. Graduated with CLU® (chartered life underwriter) designation from The American College in 2001. Graduated with ChFC® (chartered financial consultant) designation from The American College in 2002).
P.J. then became a Drilling Engineer with Gulf Oil Company for 7 years. The majority of this time was spent overseas in Africa in oil and gas exploration operations, managing a drilling budget of $50 million dollars per year. When Chevron Oil Company purchased Gulf Oil Company in 1987, P.J. was faced with a decision to relocate to California or find another job.
In 1987 a friend of the family offered him an opportunity to stay near home and get into the insurance business and PJ became an agent for New York Life. He has been:
A recipient of the National Quality Award 1990 to 1994 and 1996 to 2001
Appointed as Chairman of the Florida Parishes Association of Life Underwriters Ethics Committee in 1988 and Chairman of Governmental Affairs in 1997
Qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table 1989 to 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1998 to 2011. MDRT is recognized as the standard of excellence in life insurance sales and performance.
P.J. has published financial articles in numerous professional association newsletters.
